Mixing & export
Download your finished track
Mix export creates an audio file of your arrangement. Use it for listening outside Oscivara, sharing with others or further processing.
Check the project first
Press Save and make sure the intended project version is saved. Listen to the beginning and ending, check track mute/solo states and the final level. If the original track and its separated stems are both present, decide which should be audible.
For projects containing cloud audio, wait for the required files to load. A result in SteppeMind history is not the same as a clip added to the arrangement: export uses the project's material.
Export the mix
- Open the File tab in Studio.
- Choose Export mix.
- Select the available format settings in the export window. If you are unsure, keep the suggested settings instead of increasing everything to maximum.
- Start preparation and wait for it to complete. A long project with several instruments can take time to render.
- Save the file through the browser. If no dialog appears, check the browser's downloads list and permissions.
Keep the tab open during preparation. On a slower computer, avoid other heavy playback or multiple simultaneous exports. If you change your mind, use the cancel action when available and wait for it to stop.
Choose the right kind of file
WAV is finished audio. It preserves the sound, but does not leave every note freely editable. For individual separated parts, use Download WAV in the separation task.
MIDI contains notes and events, not a recording of the instruments. Export it from the MIDI editor. It is useful for transferring musical parts but does not guarantee identical sound in another application.
A project file preserves Oscivara's editable state. Do not automatically treat it as a complete, self-contained archive of every cloud audio file. For reliable transfer, check the audio dependencies and keep important WAV files separately.
Check the downloaded result
Open the file in an ordinary audio player. Check the beginning, ending and the parts you expected to hear. If it contains silence, revisit the track states and the project. If downloading failed, do not delete the project: check the export notification, free disk space and browser downloads first.
Read about size and quality in the format guide. To continue on another device, check cloud saving.
